Starting at Wildekrans Wine Estate and finishing at the historical Houw Hoek Inn, the third and final stage of the 2017 Cell C AfricanX Trailrun presented by ASICS will close off on a high note on Sunday, 19 March 2017.

“It’s only a 23km route that stands between teams and the closing off of three days of spectacular trail running,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “Emotions experienced at the start of Stage Three are always bitter sweet both for the athletes and the event team. To help minimise the blues, our route designers have laid out a really special Stage Three route. Runners are encouraged to savour the moment, enjoy every minute from start to finish. We look forward to welcoming you home for one last time at the picturesque Houw Hoek Inn.”

Stillwater Sports Race Director, Hendrico Burger, suggests that runners start off slowly. “Runners will now really be feeling the previous two stages in their legs. The good news is that most of the climbs and technical sections will be featured on the second half of Stage Three. Runners can therefore ease into the final stage that will include old favourites such as the Kat Pass Gorge.   We’ve also included a new fun loop in Wildekrans. This stage will be the perfect culmination of three days of running.”
