Durban, KZN – Detour Trails presents Bike & Battle taking place at Isandlwana Lodge in the Anglo Zulu Battlefields, KwaZulu Natal on 17th– 20th September 2015, an adventure in the lap of luxury.

Detour Trails is proud to bring the inaugural Bike & Battle to Isandlwana Lodge in 2015. The Bike & Battle is a unique active leisure adventure set to take place in the heart of the Anglo Zulu Battlefields. The Bike & Battle is designed to give riders & runners a chance to experience the beautiful natural trails of the area while soaking in the rich history that shaped our country. With only 50 participants, it guarantees a small and intimate feel where the emphasis is on luxury accommodation, quality food and attention to detail.

The format follows 3 days and 3 nights with trail riding or running a different route to one of the battlefield sites each day, followed by a sumptuous lunch and a talk by a raconteur, all whilst enjoying either the lush (5 star) or Glamping (glamorous camping) accommodation packages. Non-riders and supporters are encouraged to join in the activities and entertainment, making it an experience for everyone. There will be a night ride and a few other surprises thrown in for good measure.

“In a move away from the large scale mtb stage race, we’ve created something quite special. A real mountain bike and trail running adventure with the advantage of small numbers and luxury accommodation, ensuring a quality over quantity experience.” says Rohan Surridge, the event organizer
