Now in its 15th year, the Makro Bestmed Cycle Tour takes the Eastern Cape by storm with racing and entertainment for the whole family.
On the Saturday, the road races take place from Lorraine Primary School in Port Elizabeth. The line-up includes the 90km feature race, 30km Schools and Family Fun Challenge, 10km and 5km Fun Challenge, and a 1km Kiddies’ Dash for the little ones.
After the road races, participants and spectators can relax and enjoy the annual music festival at the school.
On the Sunday, the mountain bike races roll out from Crossways Farm Village in Thornhill. There are five races to choose from – the 60km Off-Road Challenge, 35km Off-Road Challenge, and 12km, 5km and 1km family events.
R10 from every entry will be donated to the Cancer Association of South Africa to assist in the fight against cancer, so be sure to be a part of this effort.
CSA licences are required for the 90km road race, and 60km and 35km mountain bike races. Should you not have a CSA licence, you will be able to purchase a temporary licence on the day of event for R35.
