Paarlberg BMW have announced their partnership with The Rock Mountain Bike Stage Race and Trail Fest, which takes place in the bustling Western Cape City of Paarl over the weekend of 28-30 September this year.
Paarlberg BMW will be providing all vehicle requirements for the event and will host hospitality areas at the various venues where the festival stops over during the weekend.
“A great deal of BMW drivers are mountain-bikers and trail runners. It’s imperative for us as a brand to underpin this and be visible to our current customer base,” said Karl Dahl, managing director and owner of Paarlberg BMW and Worcester BMW.
“We would also like to bring our brand to the forefront in this market so that we reach a large potential new customer base.”
The impressive newly revamped Paarlberg BMW dealership in Paarl’s Main Road will play host to number collection for the event. “We are very proud of the new face of our dealership and we look forward to welcoming the event for registration,” said Dahl.
Besides the signature 3-stage mountain-bike event which links Malmesbury and Paarl, a total of seven other single day mountain-bike and trail run events are hosted over The Rock weekend at Rhebokskloof and Spice Route Estates on the slopes of the Paarl Mountain.
The Rock is organised and presented with all participants as the main focal point of the event and it ticks all the boxes which are vitally important for runners and mountain-bikers, but cuts out the rest to ensure affordability.
In abundance will be super trails, brilliant racing conditions, well stocked waterpoints, a well marshalled and safe environment as well as affordable eats and drinks at vibey and cool venues.
Says race director Darren Herbst from Hero Adventure: “Since the main stream popularity of mountain-biking started 18 years ago, many mountain-bikers have taken part in most of the major stage races and single day events more than once.
“They just don’t want to fork out thousands of Rands for the same experience anymore. At the Rock there will be no frills and no fuss, but great trails, tough racing, wonderful camaraderie, and warm hospitality – all without the hefty price tag,” assures Herbst.
The entry fee for the 3-stage race is R1200 per rider and entry fees for the various single day Trail Fest offerings are kept affordable to enable as many riders and runners as possible to enjoy the weekend in the City of Drakenstein.
Drakenstein Municipality has launched a concerted drive to establish Paarl as preferred adventure sport destination on South Africa and The Rock represents a cornerstone event in their efforts.
