Race Info

Race Number Distribution

100km & 65km

To be issued your race number for the Ultra-trail Cape Town 100km and 65km races, runners will have to in person present themselves with a Photo ID and all mandatory equipment which will be checked at registration. Without these items a race number will not be issued.

20km

Runners for the 20km race do not need to bring Mandatory Gear to registration. You will be issued your race number by showing a photo ID. Someone can collect on your behalf- they will need to bring a copy of your PhotoID.

NOTE: 

If any Mandatory Gear is not carried during or at the finish a time penalty of 15 minutes per item will be imposed. There will be random checks en-route and at the finish.  

Mandatory Gear will be available for purchase at regular retail prices during registation.

Clothing

  • Water Resistant Outer Shell Jacket 

  • Running Shoes

  • Buff/Beanie

Equipment
  • Running Pack / Race Vest

  • Headlamp / Torch & Batteries

Consumables 

  • Hydration: Minimum capacity 1 liter of which 300ml to be in reserve at all times.

  • Food: 250 calories worth of concumable calories departing Aid Stations.

Emergency Equipment

  • Space blanket 

  • Bandage or a strapping

  • Whistle

  • Charged Mobile phone. Leave phones in ‘Flight Mode’ to conserve battery. 

Mandatory Gear- 20km 

You need to have a container that can hold 500ml of fluid at the start line and departure from Aid Station 01.

It cannot be discarded along the route and must be with you at the finish line.

Please take note of weather conditions on the day and dress appropriately.

  • More substantial first aid kit (sterile dressings, roll of strapping tape, blister care patches, antiseptic wipes, painkillers, and any relevant personal medications)
