Entries are open for the Western Cape’s most exciting open water swim, the Sanlam Cape Mile brought to you by Sanlam Investments.
Celebrating its 4th anniversary in 2018, the Sanlam Cape Mile will return to the majestic Eikenhof Dam at the Grabouw Country Club on Sunday, 18 February 2018. Entrants can choose between an exhilarating 1 mile (1.6km) and a refreshing 500m swim.
“The Sanlam Cape Mile continues to grow from strength to strength,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “In 2015 the event attracted close to 1000 swimmers. This is no small feat for an inaugural event. In 2016 the entry total grew to just over 1500, while in 2017 just over 2000 swimmers toed the line at the Eikenhof Dam. We would like to continue this trend in 2018. Featuring both a 500m and 1.6km swim, the Sanlam Cape Mile caters for swimmers between the ages of 13 – 60+. Together with the support of Sanlam Investments, Speedo and all our other valued sponsors we look forward to welcoming swimmers to the Western Cape’s most exciting open water swim where families and friends can expect a memorable experience like no other.”
“The sport of open-water swimming requires dedication, meticulous preparation and a high-performance culture, which is not unlike the process we go through in managing client investments. We look forward to seeing this event grow from strength to strength”, says Carl Rootman, Chief Executive: Sanlam Investments Retail. “Stillwater Sports has done some unbelievable work to ensure this event is world class, with broad appeal for everyone from novices to open-water swimming professionals.
