In September Specialized Bicycles Africa welcomed three more stores – Cycletec Adventure Centre (Windhoek), Centurion Cyclery (Centurion) and Tailwind Cycles (Klerksdorp) – to their growing roster of bicycle shops. Each store is independently owned and managed, but benefits from Specialized Bicycles South Africa’s tremendous support for shop fitment and training to ensure that each customer has the best possible experience when visiting a Specialized bicycle shop.
The first store to open its doors in September was Cycletec Adventure Centre, though as avid cyclists in Windhoek will know Cycletec was refitted to a Specialized Elite Shop. As Peet le Roux, Specialized Bicycles South Africa’s Retail Services and Body Geometry Fit Manager explained, “upgrading [Cycletec Adventure Centre] to an Elite Shop was a natural progression to provide customers with a better retail experience.” Customers to Patrick de Goede and Frank Bombosch’s store can drop by for a coffee, get themselves set-up by an accredited Body Geometry Fitment expert in the store’s Body Geometry Fit Studio, or browse the latest offerings from Specialized in their dedicated road, MTB, ladies specific and kids bike sections. The heart of Cycletec Adventure Centre remains their excellent workshop.
The owners of the successful and highly popular Lynnwood Cyclery, the Terlouw family, opened their second Specialized Concept Store, Centurion Cyclery, in the Pretoria suburb on the 22nd of September. Centurion Cyclery is a brand new store which will tap into Andre Terlouw and store manager, Gert Janse van Rensburg’s, wealth of cycling knowledge to provide the local cycling community with the best possible service and shopping experience. The new Concept Store boasts extensive road, MTB and Specialized ladies specific sections as well as a coffee shop and a workshop. As with all Specialized Concept Stores; Centurion Cyclery offers a separate Body Geometry Fit Studio, where riders can be set-up correctly on their bikes away from the bustle of the shop floor. Specialized Bicycles Africa are keen to see more riders, regardless of the bikes they ride, make use of the Body Geometry Bike Fitment service to ensure they ride comfortably and injury free. Centurion Cyclery’s Body Geometry Fit Studio is sure to vastly improve many a cyclist’s riding experience in the months and years to come.
Klerksdorp’s Tailwind Cycles is the second brand new Specialized Elite Shop to open its doors in September and this shop is owned by local businessman Adonis Charalambous and managed by the talented rider Dusty Day. Charalambous, Peet Le Roux explained, noted that Klerksdorp is “a part of the country where the active and growing cycling community was not yet properly served by Specialized”. Both Charalambous and Specialized Bicycles Africa expect the Klerksdorp cycling community to be exceptionally excited by Tailwind Cycles’ dedicated sections for road, MTB and ladies specific bikes. But Tailwind is more than just a retail space, it also features an impressive workshop, Body Geometry Fit Studio and a coffee shop where customers can relax and tap into Day’s extensive cycling knowledge.
Whether you walk in to Cycletec Adventure Centre in Windhoek, Centurion Cyclery in Centurion or Tailwind Cycles in Klerksdorp you can be assured that you will receive well informed advice, from friendly staff, to help you choose the product or bicycle that will maximise your riding pleasure.
