Onrus welcomes FNB W2W MTB Ride finishers

The third and final stage of the 2017 FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) Ride started at the picturesque Oak Valley Wine Estate (Elgin-Grabouw) on Wednesday, 01 November 2017.  Before crossing the finish line at Onrus Caravan Park riders had to complete an action packed 71km route that featured a 1200m ascent.  Iconic sections on the Stage Three route included passing the Houw Hoek Inn, the oldest hotel in South Africa, meandering through the quaint town of Botriver past the Botriver School, experiencing the magnificent Wildekrans and Hermanus Trails, Gaf-se-Bos, the Fruitways-Onrus Beach Crossing and the PERI-Onrus river crossing to name just a few. Play Day shines at FNB W2W MTB Adventure

It was all smiles on Saturday, 28 October 2017 as riders toed the line at Oak Valley Wine Estate (Elgin-Grabouw) to take on Stage Two aka “Play Day” of the FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) Adventure.  The only stage to start and finish at the same venue, Stage Two pitted ridders against a fun 71km route that featured a 1350m ascent.  Iconic sections on route included:  single tracks and bridges with names such as Waterfall, Vissie’s Magic, JK’s Edge, Sounds of Silence, Rietvlei, Witklippies 1 & 2, Raka, Swing, Ark, Cobra, Mamba, Boomslang, Pofadder, Jakkels, River Run and the much loved PERI-KROMCO Playpark to mention just a few.
