SA off-road triathletes head to XTERRA World Championship

Nine South African off-road triathletes will be seen in action at the XTERRA World Championship in Kapalua, Maui this coming Sunday, 23 October 2016. All eyes will be on reigning XTERRA South Africa Champion, Bradley Weiss. “I am going to Maui to win,” says Weiss. “The Maui route suits me incredibly well. I am a smaller athlete and I really enjoy climbing of which Maui has much. The mountain bike leg has three big climbs allowing me to take full advantage of this strength. The run is basically 5km uphill and 5km back down. Once again this suits an athlete of my build. Heat and humidity will, however, be the biggest challenges on the day. Precise nutritional and body management will be vital.” Seen here: Weiss in action at the Fedhealth XTERRA South African Championship in Grabouw (Western Cape) earlier this year.
