Woodlands MTB Cycle Challenge will be held on the 1st of November as a substitute to the cancelled OFM/Mangaung MTB Race in and around the Woodlands Wildlife Estate.

Earlier this year the news broke that OFM pulled out of the OFM/Manuang Classic and the mountain bike races the Saturday prior to the classic. This would mean one of the biggest mountain bike races in the Bloemfontein was no more.

Luckily a couple of local mountain bikers came together and Gerhardt van Heerden the manager of Woodlands Wild Life specifically stepped to the plate in a huge way. Together with Monica & Chris Naude from Mangaung Cycling Club and Cyclotech cycles the public can expect one of the best races yet in the Bloemfontein area.

Riders in the Bloemfontein area feels like they have ridden most of the trails in the area and nothing could be offered to them. Are they in for a surprise!

The trail network within Woodlands Wildlife Estate is one of Bloemfontein’s best kept secrets.  On offer is 20km of beautiful hand cut single track taking you through dense bush and up rocky climbs, it caters for almost every skill type mountain biker.

Keep in mind these hidden trail networks gets improved on almost a daily basis and with a very strict security access for the estate it’s not open to anyone unless you are a resident of estate.

The race will offer you three distances to accommodate for all fitness levels and each distance will take you through these amazing trails. Leon Rossouw, one of the route planners, even constructed a floating bridge which the more confidant riders could attempt, with a chicken run option.

Do not miss out on this golden opportunity to ride the Woodlands Wildlife Estate trails.
