TinMan 2014 – do you have heart?

TinMan_header_image_v2The 32GI TinMan Triathlon presented by Triathlon Plus is a fast paced action packed Triathlon and Running event catering for athletes from all walks of life. The 3 events will put top notch Triathlon professionals racking their bikes next to newbie Triathletes, all in the name of fun and keeping it real!

The TinMan Series kick off where the successful 13 year old Durban Multisport Series left off in 2012 and promises to give new and old Triathletes an exceptional event along one of the world’s most iconic beachfront venues. The TinMan Series has a fresh new look and appeal to attract new athletes to “tri” their hand at triathlons. The Series caters for any level of athlete, from a standalone 10km Running race, building up to a mini triathlon and a longer sprint triathlon, culminating in the longest challenge triathlon.

The TinMan bases itself from the Suncoast Sundeck, with the start and finish of each event taking place on the grass area. There are 3 dates in the 2014 TinMan event, with the first race on the 27th  July, the second on the 31th August  and the final race on the 21st September. Anyone at any level of fitness can enter 1 of the 4 events on offer and take part of the action on Durban’s Beachfront. The first event kicks off at 7am (10km run & Mini Tri) with the Sprint and Challenge Triathlons starting a little later. Reams can enter in a 3 man relay section for the Challenge Triathlon (1km swim, 30km Cycle, 10km run)

Competitors from 8years and upwards can enter one of the 4 events and challenge themselves and their friends to see how much fun they can have. The Swim section of the triathlons all take place at Suncoast beach, with the Cycle leg taking the competitors onto the cycling circuit around the country club and King spark pool. The Run section of the event makes use of the amazing promenade and takes the runners down to Blue Lagoon and back.

This exciting TinMan triathlon is sure to put the spark back into Durban’s Multisport scene and we encourage anyone interested to either sign up for an event or to come down and watch the action unfold.
