The South African Depression & Anxiety Group (SADAG) is celebrating World Mental Health Day on Saturday, 10 October 2015. To commemorate World Mental Health Day, SADAG and Hexor (a health economics and outcomes research company) will be hosting the Moving for Mental Wellness event at the beautiful Nirox Art Foundation Park in the Cradle of Humankind, Mogale City.
The main objective of this event is contribute to increasing awareness and knowledge of mental illness and to encourage solidarity with those affected, by hosting a Mountain Bike Race, a Trail Run Race, an Art Exhibition and a Social Event to raise funds in aid of SADAG’s national Suicide Crisis Center, which receives over 400 calls a day.
The Mountain Bike and Trail Run events will be for individual or team entry and will begin at 08:00. The Mountain Bike Race will be a 12km or 36km challenge from Nirox into the Cradle of Humankind. The Trail Run will be a 5km or 15km trail run through the picturesque Nirox Foundation grounds. Both events will have a lap race format and corporates are encouraged to enter teams of three into both events. There will be art exhibitions, food stalls, music and a picnic area for the
whole family to enjoy. Mental Health impacts the entire family so everyone can get involved in and support MOVING FOR MENTAL WELLNESS.
