Wildrunner is happy to announce that in the past financial year we have collectively raised and donated just shy of R270,000 to various conservation foundations, charity organisations, social and non-profit entities; as well as sponsored over R60,000 worth of entries to development athletes across South Africa.
Managing director, Owen Middleton has said the importance of giving back to the communities where the company organises events is integral not only to the success of these events but also close to the spirit of trail running. “We place great value in giving back to the beautiful environments that we run in and to the local communities that help make a difference to people’s lives, and we look forward to building on these relationships going forward,” he said.
The beneficiaries range from established charities to small groups of dedicated people making a difference. Through participant engagement Wildrunner is thrilled to be in a position to support the valuable work that they all do. Some of the beneficiaries include the Spur Foundation, St Luke’s Hospice, SANParks, Cape Nature and Ikhaya Loxolo, a home for the mentally disabled in the Transkei.
